White Rann

The Great Salt Desert

Rann of Kutch — The White Rann

The White Rann is a vast seasonal salt marsh that turns into a dazzling white expanse once the monsoon water evaporates. Stretching to the horizon, it is one of the most surreal landscapes in India, especially magical at sunset and under a full moon.

Every winter, the White Rann becomes home to the famous Rann Utsav — a festival of Kutchi culture, music, dance and craft held near Dhordo, not far from Hodka. Staying with us puts you within easy reach of both the Rann Utsav festival grounds and the open salt desert.
